With most farmers in West Central Saskatchewan in the final stages of haying and with Harvest time fast approaching, heavy amounts of rainfall and high humidity are beginning to take thier toll on hay and crop quality. The last rating report rated hay and crop quality as five percent excellent, forty eight percent good and forty seven percent fair. Despite these numbers, rainfall has varied greatly over many areas of the region. Areas in and around Tramping Lake and Unity have received little rain, while the Conquest area has received up to 50 mm.

Other areas that have received large amounts of rainfall in the past two weeks include Dinsmore at 37 mm, Sonningdale at 24 mm, Kindersley at 48 mm, Biggar at 41 mm and Macklin at 37 mm. The Conquest area holds the regional record for the greatest amount of precipitation since early April at 332 mm.

The majority of crops remain in good condition, but the largest hit is going towards pulses when it comes to loss of yields. Crop Damage in the last week is being blamed on heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts and large hail.
