June 1 represents the Canadian Junior Football League's signing day, and at least two local players are moving onto the next level.

Just over a week after their appearance at the senior bowl in Regina, Rosetown Royals graduating players Mathew Morris and Jacob Fehr officially signed on with the CJFL's Regina Thunder. The commitments were announced on Saturday.

Over the past few seasons Morris and Fehr have been key pieces for Royals football coach Mitch Wintonyk. This past season Rosetown went an impressive 6-0 in the regular season, winning a playoff game to advance to the semi-finals, where they would lose to the eventual champions in Clavet.

Before they get going on their junior careers, both of the mentioned players are slated to take part in the CanAm Bowl taking place in Wyoming in July. After that the next step for Morris and Fehr will be Thunder training camp later this summer.
