Region 6 which includes Hanley, Kerrobert, Kindersley, Unity and Rosetown all competed in the Regional Drama Festival this past weekend in Rosetown.

Theater critic Russ Ramsden ‎and Actor/Director Bob Brophy did the adjudication.

Hanley's 60 minute drama play called 'Dust' was chosen as the winner to go on to the Saskatchewan Provincial Drama Festival May 5-7 at the University of Regina. Over 60 Students, a dozen chaperones and many volunteers made the weekend a huge success. It wrapped up Saturday evening with everyone heading back to their respective towns.

Some award winners here in Rosetown were Logan Shortt receiving the Shining Star award chosen by the directors of each school. Cassidy White won a technical award of merit for her work as stage manager. Logan Shortt also won an acting award of merit chosen by the front of house adjudicator, Russ Ramsden.

Logan Davis, Kaitlyn McDonald, and James Pacquette won certificates of merit for the technical aspect of theatre, while Emily Vandenberg won a certificate of merit for acting as chosen by the adjudicator. And finally, Ted Linklater won the runner-up to the Bob Hinitt Technical Performance Award for his committment to the technical aspect of theatre.
