Although the rental market is not quite as red-hot as it was when commodity prices were sky high, it not exactly easy to find a place to rent in West Central Saskatchewan. Finding a place to move into may be somewhat difficult as vacancy rates have been creeping downwards. Brian Klein, who owns some rental properties in Kindersley, stated he was at around 75% vacancy, and getting some out of town and province calls more frequently.

Nancy Kissick, administrative assistant with the Kindersley Housing Authority noted the only openings the authority has right at the moment in Kindersley are 2 bedroom units for seniors.

The Kindersley Housing Authority works in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.

The Social Housing Program provides safe and adequate housing to families, seniors, and people with disabilities who have low incomes. This program subsidizes rent according to the degree of financial need.

The Social Housing Program is administered by local housing authorities on behalf of Saskatchewan Housing Corporation.
