The Central Plains Co-op in Rosetown recently held sleigh rides for all of the public to enjoy.

From 1pm until 3 on Saturday, people could make their way down to the grocery store and take a nice and peaceful ride around the town.

Co-op Spokesperson Kimiko Otterspoor explained that, while this event was just for fun, they always put something together for the Co-op Kids Club members.

“So this is just one we decided to do for January. Tammy Mcgonigal at our food store was kind enough offer us to let her come and do the sleigh rides with her horses, so we took advantage of that.”

Tammy McGonigal not only supplied the horses, but was also the one driving the sleigh.

Otterspoor said that they have done sleigh rides before in the past, and that they always had a nice turnout.

Also available at the Co-op was popcorn and hot chocolate for the children. Otterspoor explained that members of the Co-op Kids Club often receive newsletters, letting them know of upcoming events like this.

A quiet sleigh ride around a small town is a great way to spend time with friends, and head into a new year with a smile on the face.
