Since 2001, the Rosetown Kid Kare day care has been nurturing as well as teaching children. With the recent funding from the Ministry of Education and other grants, the non-profit organization has been able to upgrade to over 60 spots for kids. Karen Welter is the Directory of Rosetown Kid Kare with MaryAnne Brisbin as the Assistant Director. Welter has been at the center for seven years but has been the Director for just over a year. Brisbin has been at the facility for six years and has been the Assistant Director for over three years. Karen says every day is a new one.

"Everyday is different, it's fun, it's challenging, it can be an adventure," she said. "We get to use our imaginations, but it is nice to make a difference in a child's life everyday."

MaryAnn commented they are here for the kids

"We guide them, we give them good choices," she said. "We do what is best for them."

The non-profit organization is an early learning center; meaning they look for the children's interests. Using Emergent Curriculum, Welter, Brisbin, and other staff bring the child's interest to the center to further their learning. They use play and exploration to help the kids learn about new things. The staff brings nature into the classroom, takes the kids on trips around town, and has dress up days for fun (PJ day, Wear Pink For Bullying, etc).

The facility has 9 full time staff, 3 part time, and 5 casual to keep the program running.
