The Rosetown RCMP want to make the public aware of hackers using the RCMP phone number. Their phone number may or may not show up on call display but on call back they are using our number. Police are reminding people to NOT give any personal information to unknown individuals and if, in doubt, always call the RCMP before agreeing to any callers’ requests. This comes in the latest RCMP report from the detachment for October 1 to October 7.

Also, in the calls to service, was a report of harassing communications on October 1. Members spoke to the subject of complaint and issued a verbal warning. A domestic dispute was reported on October 2, and the matter is still under investigation. Also, on October 2, RCMP received a report of possible gun shots by a rural residence near Herschel. Members patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone or any suspicious activity.

Then on October 4, RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Rosetown. Members spoke to the complainant. The complainant requested no further action be taken. There was also a report of a stolen wallet on the evening of October 4, and the matter is still under investigation.

Members then received a report of an erratic driver on Highway 7 in the morning of October 5. RCMP was unable to locate the vehicle.

And in the early morning hours of October 7, RCMP received a request to keep the peace while a vehicle was being repossessed.

There were 34 Traffic related charges issued and 2 false alarm calls.
