Rosetown Town Council are looking into a bylaw that could curb bullying

The Rosetown town council is considering bringing in a bullying bylaw similar to one that has been instituted in Hanna, Alberta.

The bylaw would work on the premise of a complaint being lodged to the RCMP.

An investigation into the allegations would be conducted and if the accused party were found guilty a fine of 2 hundred and fifty dollars would be implemented for the first offense.

If the same person or party were to be involved in a second offense the penalty would stiffen to a fine of one thousand dollars.

Bullying has been a major topic across the nation since the Amanda Todd incident in British Columbia earlier this year.
