West Central residents can expect to see some sporadic showers over the next couple of hours due to a low-pressure system in Alberta.

Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, Samantha Mauti, elaborated.

“As of today, we've had this low-pressure system sort of spin up in Alberta and it's swinging a little bit of a weak cold front through southwestern Saskatchewan right now,” she explained.

She added that the system is capable of producing thunderstorms, although the risk is currently low.

“Once that cold front passes through the area, we're looking at generally unstable conditions, possibly causing some showers and thunderstorms, though the risk is low looking low right now for the next couple of days.”

Mauti stated that after the system has passed, residents can expect to see normal temperatures for this time of year, which is around 23 degrees Celsius.
