There were a few series that continued over the weekend looking at the west-central Saskatchewan senior hockey landscape, but the spotlight was for the most part on provincials. A few local series got underway, and another all-local series hit the schedule books.
The Wilkie Outlaws came away with the win in Porcupine Plain 9-4 to sweep their series, and the Biggar Nationals finished off their series against Rosthern in winner-take all fashion 4-3. The two teams are now set for a second round matchup, dates to be determined.
Macklin and Eston opened their Provincial D series with a win. Dinsmore, Wilkie, and Kyle all moved on in their Provincial C series. The only Provincial

League play also saw some serious progress made into a few local series.
On Friday night in the Sask West, the Macklin Mohawks beat the Edam 3 Stars to advance to the next round. The Eatonia Huskies are on the brink of elimination in the White Mud Hockey League after losing the first to Gull Lake, now set for a do-or-die Friday night in Gull Lake in Game 3. The Cross Roads Hockey League had one game as the Kerrobert Tigers forced a Game 3. The Sask Valley Hockey League was idle for the weekend.
