The City of Saskatoon is making some changes to their smoking bylaws by prohibiting smokers to smoke outside of public places owned by the city. This bylaw would will come into affect on January 1st, 2016. The bylaw will also consist of prohibiting e-cigarettes in all places where smoking cigarettes is not allowed.

The Town of Kindersley has a similar bylaw of the smoking bylaw in Saskatoon, also disallowing smoking outside of public buildings owned by the public. The bylaw reads "No person shall smoke or use smokeless tobacco in and around any town buildings or town vehicles at this time."

The bylaw also states that "Any person who contravenes any provisions of this Bylaw is guilty of an offense and liable to a penalty of One Hundred Dollars."

For people that have been fined with the $100, the Bylaw states that "If payment is received or postmarked within ten (10) calendar days of the issue date, the Town will reduce the required payment to a sum of twenty-five dollars. If the payment is received or postmarked within ten (10) calendar days from the date of issuance of the ticket, and accepted by the town, then the person shall not be liable to further court action."
