International Women's Day is celebrated every March 8th. While the day continues to bring awareness to women's issues, it's also a great opportunity to share the stories of different empowering women in our area.
To celebrate International Women's Day 2023, we are taking a look back at the last ten days of 2022.
Back on December 21st we wrote about the big heart of Jenelle McLean, as the Eston resident helped out Ukrainians starting a new life in West Central.
The next day saw another storied published featuring Barbe Dunn with FoodMesh Kindersley, a local group that provides for families in need (and also had a Ukrainian connection in March.
Finally about a week later on December 29th, we shared the story of Dr. Jackie Hagens using her local optometry businesses to give back to local food banks in both Oyen and Kindersley.
Each one of the trio stepped up to help someone in need to end of 2022, and we are celebrating those accomplishments early on here in 2023.
