The Kindersley Sr. Klippers are lined up with a Sask Valley Hockey League opponent in Hockey Saskatchewan A Provincials. The Loreburn 19ers will be in Kindersley for Game 1 on Sunday night at 7:30.
WestCentralOnline spoke with Klippers forward Shayne Neigum to tee-up the matchup. Neigum spoke about the decision to enter A provincials.
"We are excited to be back in the Provincial A bracket. Obviously the team entered B, but with sparse entries, we got pushed up to A." explained Neigum, referring to the field of impressive teams as the "big boy bracket".
Like many other teams gunning for the title, the Klippers added to their roster for provincials.
"We got some extra firepower coming in to kind of bolster the lineup. It's always a great time of year."
Opening up the series on home-ice, Game 2 between the Klippers and 19ers is set for February 16, 2024 at 8:00 PM in Loreburn.
