The intense winds are expected to continue in communities throughout west central Saskatchewan today.

Environment Canada is predicting wind gusts of up to 80 or 90 kilometres per hour accompanied by sporadic showers. Temperatures for communities in the area are set to hang between the 10°C-15°C mark for the remainder of day.

The morning will start with winds at around 30 kilometres and grow to 50 kilometres later today. According to the forecast, winds should start to calm by the weekend.

Residents are reminded that strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings or trees, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles.

The stormy weather began yesterday for the region with a mixture of heavy rainfall, hail, and winds peaking around the 80 km/h mark as well. As of right now, the weekend weather looks promising with sunny skies and temperatures climbing to the mid-20s range.

Let's just hope Mother Nature is kind to us and we have summer weather from here on out!
