The Rosetown Regional Family and Community Support Services have decided to fold due to the lack of support given back from the community.

The organization began in 2009 with the goal to help pursue needs in the district such as launching a youth drop-in centre, a community garden and conducting a local needs assessment.

From the starting point of creating the organization, an initial aim was to assist in getting any permanent projects on a supportable footing which was accomplished through the youth drop-in centre and the community garden.

High points of the organization are in the past and due to a lack of new projects being available, the organization is looking for a real purpose to continue putting time and effort in the community. The group has a lack of committed members and capacity level was another topic that needed to be addressed.

It was admitted that the group was always relatively small but due to the hard working members, things got done fast and proper.

Money was not a factor in making the decision to dissolve as most of the members were health employees. The groups under it's umbrella generated most of the operating funds through donations, fundraisers or grants supplied. Crystal Storey, an organizer, admitted that finding other organizations to donate was not easy but always made it possible for groups to continue on.

Members will continue to show interest in developing the community and will continue to seek opportunity to help organizations in need of any type of assistance.
