The Sask West Hockey League got their season underway last week with a pair of games, and now the Sask Valley Hockey League will be starting up this weekend as senior hockey is getting into full swing around west-central Saskatchewan.

The SWHL has three games scheduled for Friday night with Kindersley playing Unity, Hafford in Biggar, and then Wilkie and Macklin match-up in Macklin. All games will be at 8:30.

Saturday has two games on the docket as Edam will be in Macklin to face the Mohawks at 8:00 PM, and the Wilkie Outlaws travel the opposite direction to take on Biggar, also at 8:00 PM.

The opening weekend of the SVHL is going to be jam-packed. Friday games see the joint Lucky Lake-Beechy team debuting in Delisle, and Central Butte taking on Loreburn in a battle out of east. Both of those games start at 8:00 PM.

Saturday will see four games played. Delisle will be in Loreburn at 7:00 as each team completes a back-to-back, ditto with the Lucky Lake area squad who will host Central Butte at 7:00 PM. The Outlook Ice Hawks will be in Kenaston to face the Blizzards at 7:30 PM, and the Rosetown Redwings will be in Davidson to welcome the leagues newest team in the Cyclones at 8:00 PM.
