The west central region will not likely feel much relief from the below average winter temperatures that has been experienced so far this year.

Those looking for moisture in the last half of winter will see minimal amounts today and perhaps into tomorrow, however, the weeks following are not expected to bring more precipitation.

“Unfortunately for the Kindersley region, we wont be reaching the average daytime highs of -5.2 in the next few weeks. We are expecting temperatures to be a good 10 degrees colder, sitting around -15 with the windchill factor on top of that,” said Sara Hoffman with Environment Canada.

Hoffman stated that they aren’t expecting the temperatures to be as cold as they have been through the first few weeks of the year, however, it’s not looking favourable that the region will get out of the below-zero double-digits.

“Climate is what we expect and weather is what we get,” added Hoffman when sharing that although the next few weeks aren’t looking optimistic for measurable amounts of moisture or warm days, conditions can change without significant notice.
