As Saskatchewan prepares for phase 3 of the economic reopening plan, and cases reach a low not seen since COVID-19 reached Saskatchewan, Premier Moe and Chief Medical Health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab teased phase 4 details will be coming early next week.

"I know there are many Saskatchewan residents that would like us to reopen more quickly. I get those calls, texts, and emails everyday. I want you to know we hear you," Premier Moe said. "We are working very hard to open what we can, as quickly as we can. But we need to do so safely. Next week we can expect a number of announcements with respect to more reopening dates. Related to medical services, schools, beaches, parks, and playgrounds. We are committed to getting all of these things reopened as soon as possible but safely as possible."

A release provided by the provincial government was made available as Premier Moe spoke. Phase 4, which still has no scheduled start date, will be broken into 2 steps. The first step will provide guidance for the reopening of youth camps, outdoor summer programming, outdoor pools, and splash parks. In essence step 1 will include outdoor activities.

Phase 4, step 2 will include indoor pools, rinks, libraries, museums, movie theaters, and casinos.

More consultation time with stakeholders was said to be the reasons for a delay in providing further details.

Premier Moe also teased, in the question and answer portion of the daily COVID-19 update, that more information on the reopening of classrooms in September will be made available soon.
