Active cases of COVID-19 in the province of Saskatchewan are hovering just over the 2,000 mark, as yesterday brought one of the highest spikes in cases since January.

In the province, 199 new active cases of COVID-19 are present in Saskatchewan, and with 195 recoveries the active case count rose slightly to 2,068.

111 people are in hospital including 84 receiving inpatient care and 27 in ICU. Of the 111 patients, 80 are not fully vaccinated.

In the Central West zone, four new cases have been reported along with six recoveries, making the active case count 55.

The current seven-day average of new active cases is 228.
