Hosting the Regina Jr. Rebels on Saturday, the Western Prairie Jr. Klippers played an SJFHL home-game at the West Central Events Centre for the first time since November.

The Klippers Facebook page gave a short breakdown of the action against the Regina Junior Rebels.

"(Regina) came out strong in the first taking a 4-0 lead after one but the Western Prairie Klippers rallied and managed to hold the Rebels to only 2 goals in the next two periods. The Klippers lone goal was scored by Rachel Usselman!"

The game finished a 6-1 loss for the Klippers against the impressive squad out of Regina. The loss stung, but it was the pre-game festivities that really stuck out for the Klippers.

"Tonight was about more than just hockey," their Facebook post continued. "The Klippers were excited to have the U7 Klippers join them on the ice during warm up and O'Canada. It's nice to take these opportunities to be role models to our local female hockey players, and one day u22 Western Prairie Klippers!"

The team was then treated to a postgame meal, ahead of setting their sights to next weekend's two game road trip Saturday night in Regina, and Sunday night in Lumsden.

The Outlook Ice Hawks were also in action this weekend with a pair of games. The Ice Hawks lost 4-1 on the road Friday night in Saskatoon, and then on Sunday in Outlook, they were shut-out 3-0 by the Regina Junior Rebels.
