National Victims of Crime Awareness Week drew attention to some of the services we have for victims of crime in the region.
Crisis Services offers support to women living in abusive relationships.
Executive Director Teresa Cole spoke on the benefit of Crisis Services.
"We've got a number of different programs that can help support people who have had those experiences. Our crisis line, which is 24 hours, is sometimes a good starting point for people to call for support," said Cole.
Cole notes they also offer a safe shelter for women and children leaving abusive relationships where they can stay for four to six weeks while they determine their next step.
