Warm temperatures are in the forecast this week in the west central area and it will be a welcome sight from the deep freeze the area was in last week. Even though it will be a nice week in west central Saskatchewan, the above normal temperatures can lead to snow melting and other things you may have to keep an eye out for.

Environment Canada and Climate Change Canada’s meteorologist Terri Lang said the temperatures can lead to slippery areas on the roads and sidewalks and you have to watch your footing.

"We are not going to see much in the way of melting, we will see some melting on the streets and can lead to some issues as it will freeze overnight and that will lead to some slippery conditions," Lang says.

Lang also talked about a small system heading into the area which will produce some flurries.

"We are looking for a little system swirling through the Southwest corner of the province which will produce heavy flurries, but nothing major over a period of 24 hours," Lang concluded.

Weather is supposed to be above or near seasonal the next 10 days according to Lang and Environment Canada.
