March 10 marked an exciting day for West Central Saskatchewan.

The town of Leader was officially the warmest spot in Saskatchewan on Thursday, setting an all time high record of 19.4 Celsius in the mid-afternoon. The mark of almost 20 degrees is 3.4 degrees warmer than the last record high, dating back 92 years, to 1924.

Rosetown as well as Kindersley also broke records on Thursday. Rosetown reached a balmy 16.9 Celsius, 6.4 degrees higher than their last warmest day back in 1995 where they hit 13.5 degrees. Kindersley hit a high of 16.2 Celsius; 2.2 degrees higher than the previous record of 14.0 degrees in March of 1995.

A string of records were broken across the province. Other notable warm spots included Swift Current, Estevan, Regina and Saskatoon, as well as Broadview and Elbow.

Environment Canada reported a warm southerly flow of air sweeping over the province, bringing record setting warm temperatures to both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
