A nice Saturday gathering in Eatonia saw local resident Ted Douglas awarded for his service in World War II.
The Douglas family gathered outside of the Eatonia Oasis Living quarters as Royal Canadian Legion Branch #57 members out of Kindersley David Burke and Scott Holloway presented Douglas with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
Every WWII veteran in Saskatchewan received one of these medals, that were created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne, that began on February 6, 2022 and was one of the last decrees before her eventual death.
Eatonia Oasis Living was the site of the ceremony on what was a beautiful summer day Douglas was the latest to receive the medal. You can check out a video of the short weekend ceremony below.
