On June 21, 2019, The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan suspended a doctor from within the west central region.

Dr. Alred Ernst was found guilty with unbecoming, improper, unprofessional or discreditable conduct with employees at the local health region.

The doctors suspension will be in effect for one month. The council requires that the doctor successfully complete a communications course as well as a HIPA (Health Information Protection Act) course at the soonest available time.

The doctor is also responsible to pay the costs of the investigation and hearing. These amount to $11,092.42. The doctors license will remain suspended until fines are paid in full.
