Three hockey players from West Central Saskatchewan are leading the team in scoring for the Battlefords Stars in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League this season. Plenty’s Carson Dobson, who is the captain of the squad, also leads the team with 21 points in 20 games played. Rosetown product Vaughn Watterodt is second on the team with 12 points in 16 games played and Colby Ralston from Unity sits in 3rd with 11 points in 20 games played. Rookie Kyle Heintz from Luseland is also on the team and has 2 goals and 2 assists in 13 games played for the Stars this season. Battlefords has a pair of games against the Notre Dame Argos at home this weekend starting on Saturday at 7:30 and then Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The Stars have a 6-12-2 record after 20 games played this season.


In Swift Current, Kindersley products Logan Linklater and rookie Tylin Hilbig, have helped the Legionnaires to an 11-8-1 record after 20 games played with Linklater collecting 15 points in 17 games played. Hilbig has had 5 assists in 18 games played this season. Swift Current also has a couple of Rosetown natives as well as Eric Robbie plays defense for the Legionnaires and has an impressive 11 points from the blue line. Rookie Jakin Lawrence is also on the team and has 4 points in 18 games played for Swift Current so far this year. The Legionnaires play a pair of games on the road this weekend starting in Notre Dame to play the Hounds on Saturday night and they will continue to Yorkton to play the Maulers on Sunday afternoon.


Ty Bahm is another West Central born player in the league as well as he hails from Kerrobert. Bahm is playing for the Prince Albert Mintos who are having a good season with a 13-8 mark and Bahm  has 11 points in 21 games played for the Mintos. Prince Albert has one game this weekend and it is on Sunday at home versus the Regina Pat Canadians at 1:30 pm. 


Kayden Ostrom from Rosetown is one more West Central player who is in the league as he plays for the Tisdale Trojans. It is his rookie season for the team and he has 1 goal in 20 games for Tisdale this season. The Trojans are busy this week with 3 games starting in Saskatoon against the Blazers tomorrow and then 2 on the weekend against Moose Jaw at home starting on Saturday at 4:45 pm and then Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. 


Austin Reschny from Macklin is a rookie for the Moose Jaw Warriors AAA team and has had a good rookie season with 9 points in 20 games for the Warriors this season. The Warriors will be at home tomorrow night against Notre Dame Argos and then are off to Tisdale for a pair of games this weekend.
