The West Central Wheat Kings AA hockey kicked off their season with a pair of games on Sunday in Unity. On the ice first were the Pee Wee AA Wheat Kings playing host to the Melfort Mustangs. West Central scored early and often against the Mustangs taking to the game in convincing fashion 13-2. Cole Reschny from Macklin had a huge day leading the way for the Wheat Kings with 3 goals and 5 assists. Next up for the Pee Wee AA Wheat Kings is a date with the Warman Wildcats on October 19 at 2:45 at the Legends Centre. 

The action continued in Unity Sunday as the Bantam AA Wheat Kings played host to the Swift Current Broncos. The Bantams fell behind early and could not catch up as they fell 8-2. Next action for the Bantam AA Wheat Kings is on Sunday in Kerrobert against the Regina Pat Blues at 3 pm. The Bantam Wheat Kings finish off the month on the road in Regina Saturday October 26 against the Regina Aces at 3:45 pm and lastly on Sunday October 27 they travel to Balgonie to take on the Prairie Storm at 2:15 pm. Karson Blanchette from Unity leads the team in scoring early on getting a goal and an assist in the loss to the Swift Current Broncos on October 6.
