We shared news of the 'Thunder on the Prairies' hockey tournament back in August, and now the big weekend is finally here.
Both the U13 AA and U15 AA Western Prairie Thunder are the hosts for this joint tournament. Both teams are set for action Friday afternoon as a full-weekend at the rink gets into gear.
Friday's first game will see the U13 Thunder in action at 1:00 PM against the Regina Rebels white team. The action on Saturday will begin with the Thunder taking on the Central Alberta Twins at 10:15, and then the U13's will actually be hitting the road for a 2:00 game against the Calgary Fire black team.
The U15 team will get their tournament started shortly after the U13's first game on Friday. At 3:15 they are set for a matchup against the Sherwood Park Kings, before an early morning tomorrow sees them taking on the South East Goldwings at 10:00 AM, and then the Winnipeg APHA Rangers at 2:00 PM.
As you can see above, more than just hockey will be headlining things at the West Central Events Centre.
