A breakout senior season for Diamond Energy Female Midget AAA Wildcats forward Brooklyn Rublee saw her biggest moment yet last week.

The Kindersley product signed a letter of intent to play for the Trinity Western University Spartans' women's hockey program starting in the 2020-21 season.

"It was a pretty cool feeling, and I'm pretty fortunate to have such great coaches over the past few years," said Rublee after a 5-1 win over the Weyburn Gold Wings on Sunday.

Rublee will be looking to bring a high-energy game to the Spartans' program next year.

"I'm a pretty good skater - can skate fast and drive to the net hard," she said, adding her intensity was certainly a strength as well.

The grade 12's growth in the SFMAAAHL has been quite evident this season especially, after making the jump as a grade 11 rookie last year.

In the 2018-19 season, Rublee had seven goals and 17 points in 28 regular-season games.

This year, she's already nearing those marks through just 12 games. Rublee has four goals and 13 points in a dozen appearances on the top line with the Wildcats - a mark good for T-8 in the league.

The Wildcats are off to a similarly strong start, as they currently have a 10-1-1-0 record, and narrowly trail the first-place Regina Rebels (10-0-1-1) by a single point heading into the Christmas break.

Rublee and the Wildcats are back to SFMAAAHL play January 3, when they open a three-game road set with the Northern Bears (7-6-2-0) in Prince Albert.
