Over the weekend the community of Elrose held their annual auction to raise funds for the towns Uniplex. This years grand total was $137,650.50, came from the live auction, some cash donations and their 50/50 draw.

Lisa Watson, Elrose Recreation Director said, "It amazing for a town of only 500 people to raise that amount of money in only six hours. It's absolutely unbelievable."

The money raised from this years auction will go towards completing the replacement of the Uniplex roof. As of right now the hub area, the curling rink area and the pool have all received new roofing, with the hockey rink area left to be completed.

Watson added, "There were a few setbacks at the beginning of the year with our plaints. We had to install a new compressor as well as a new chiller and are expecting to run into a few more issues there, that will eat up a little bit of the money."

The Uniplex is considered the hub of the Elrose community. If your not using it for skating or hockey over the Winter and Fall, the Spring and Summer brings the community together for the use of the pool.
