The Leader and District Integrated Healthcare Facility is said to be on track to welcome residents back to the facility for the end of February.

In a news release by the Saskatchewan Health Authority(SHA), after assessing the damage from the water line break at the beginning of the month, repairs to the damage has taken place, as well as, testing the integrity of the water lines.

According to the SHA repairs to the building included adding additional insulation to the affected area, removal and replacement of damaged drywall, electrical panels have been replaced and the area has been thoroughly cleaned.

Additionally, air quality tests were conducted this past week with results expected in the next few days, these results will determine if the space is safe for residents to reoccupy.

The SHA stated that it is too early to determine the costs associated with the repairs and said they are working with their insurance adjuster on the event.

After the sprinkler system was flushed and re-pressurized, the lines were tested for additional vulnerabilities, of which, the SHA said their review did not identify any other ares of the building that required additional insulation.
