After a week straight of temperatures ranging from the -30 to -45 range, the West Central Region finally received some decent winter weather that allowed for outdoor hobbies.

Temperatures were back down to single digits in the negatives, which is hard to complain about in the middle of the winter season. However, experts are predicting that temperatures could drop again to the minus twenties by next weekend.

Overall, the winter season has been better than average with the majority of December being considered "light-jacket weather" in the region. If you take away the Extreme Cold Weather stretch we just went through, this winter season has been everything one could ask for.

The lack of snow in the entire province has been disappointing for outdoor winter sport activists, but it's expected we could see more of a snowfall this upcoming weekend to go along with the colder temperatures.
