John Kutz

It is with deep sadness the family of John Kutz announce his passing on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the age of 58 years.
John was born on August 6, 1965 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan to Leonard and Helen (Casey) Kutz. He was raised on the farm just north of Elrose. John attended Elrose Composite School, where he graduated with a close-knit class of friends in 1983. Following high school, John moved to Saskatoon to work on a Diploma in Agriculture in April of 1985 followed by a certificate in cabinet-making and millwork in March of 1986. John married his loving wife, Sharon (Sweet) on June 14, 1986 in Elrose. They settled on the family farm to raise their family of four beautiful children.
John was proud to be an active community member. He sat on the Rec Board, the Elrose Lions Club, and the Prairie Centre Credit Union Board of Directors. He was very involved with his children’s sports and activities, managing many teams as well as travelling around the province to watch. John also enjoyed fishing trips and golfing with friends. John spent many summers at Clearwater Lake throughout his life, and in recent years, John and Sharon gathered with family at Sandy Shores. They have enjoyed the last several winters in Maricopa, Arizona. John loved nothing more than extended family gatherings and trips. His most cherished time was spent with his children, grandchildren, and extended family and friends. The sound of his laughter, a hand slapping on his knee, will echo in his absence. He carried his pain quietly, and his soul has found rest. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his loving wife Sharon Kutz; his children and grandchildren Jordan (Jaala) - Chase, Alli and Hadley; Janelle (Jonathon) - Ella, Myles and Cameron; Blayne; Leanne (Austin) - Birks, Jacey and Kash; his parents Leonard and Helen Kutz, mother-in-law Laura Sweet; his siblings Mary Ann (Ken) Hamilton, Jackie (Doug) Shaw, Audrey (Lorrie) Reed, Joan (Mike) McDonald, Louise (Duncan) Campbell and Marilyn (Dave) Martin; his in-laws Eldon (Leigh) Sweet, Mae (Errin) Snider and Diane (Rod) Buchan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Vincent Sweet, nephew Russell Hamilton and nieces Diana Campbell and Abbie Speir.
