Dan and Chelsea Erlandson of Outlook have been named the 2016 Outstanding Young Farmers for the Saskatchewan region at the annual award event held in conjunction with Canada's Farm Progress Show on June 17th. The pair will represent Saskatchewan at the Canadian Farm Progress show to be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario from November 29th - December 4th, 2016.

Dan and Chelsea are third-generation majority owners of Spring Creek Garden Ltd. growing over 55 high quality vegetables on approximately 200 acres of land just outside of Outlook, Saskatchewan. The couple, Dan's brother Travis and wife Jackie attend farmers markets weekly in Saskatoon and Regina. They also grow, pack and market vegetables for the wholesale market. Dan and Chelsea Erlandson grow 55 varieties of vegetables including brussels sprouts, sweet corn, broccoli, romaine, celery and leafy green lettuces, as well as the typical vegetables that market customers expect. These vegetables are sold through Federated Co-op in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. Spring Creek markets to Co-op through Prairie Fresh Food Corporation, which consists of 17 Saskatchewan vegetable growers working together to provide a wide array of products.
