On the first Wednesday of June for the last 70 years, the 4-H Clubs from all over the region gather for the Kerrobert and District Agricultural Society's 70th Annual Regional 4-H show. The weather couldn't have been more perfect for the entire day, as hundreds of people gathered at the Kerrobert fair grounds to enjoy the festivities.

There was a total of 58 H Club Members present, and a total of 5 different 4-H Clubs participating. The Clubs included Ridpath, Kerrobert, Major, Handel and Bea Bank who all performed at last year's Show and Sale. There was around 400-500 people that stopped by at some point throughout the day to take part in the auction, or just to take in some the show.

The day began with Opening Ceremonies, the singing of O' Canada and group pictures featuring all of the 4-H Clubs.

Following the opening ceremonies, the 4-H Clubs competed in the Team Grooming Competition. Each 4-H Club sends three members to compete which includes Junior, Intermediate and Senior. They are judged on how well they manage time, the animal and how well they work as a team together. Juniors were the first group ages 9-12, Intermediates were next, composed of teens ages 13-16 and the Seniors were the last age group, ages 16-21.

This year, there was only one Grade 12 who was eligible to win a $500 scholarship. Brittany Hirschfeld out of the Handel Multiple 4H Club was rewarded for her efforts over the last few years. Members were eligible because they have showed their animals at the district 4-H Beef Show and Sale for at least 5 years.

Throughout the day, the silent auction ran from 8:00am until around 3:30pm and raised close to the same amount of money from 2016 which was roughly $4,000. The money raised will go towards paying for electricity, sewage and water for the new 4-H agricultural building in the Kerrobert fairgrounds.
