A former Kindersley Klippers goaltender has accepted an offer to play hockey south of the border.

Nick Trenciansky has committed to the St. Scholastica Saints of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Conference of the United States. The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League graduate will be playing in a state where hockey is just as important as it is in the Great White North, as the college is located in Duluth, Minnesota with the team playing in the NCAA Division III level.

Last season, the Saints finished in 2nd place in the North Division with a record of 12-7-1 and losing in the semifinals of the post-season tournament.

Trenciansky will not be the only Surrey, British Columbia SJHL graduate joining the Saints for the 2017-2018 campaign either.

Carson Rose, who played for the Weyburn Red Wings the past two seasons, will be joining the program as well. Rose collected 46 points for the Red Wings during the 2016-2017 regular season.

The Klippers acquired Trenciansky from the Langley Rivermen of the British Columbia Hockey League back in November of last year. Nick started between the pipes in 27 regular season contests and all three of the Klippers' playoff games against the Weyburn Red Wings.

In a statement released on the Klippers website, the organization thanked the 20-year-old netminder for his time in Kindersley and wish him the best in his hockey and educational career.
