The weekend has drawn a big crowd to the Canadian Grand Slam Open in Yorkton.

The women's draw on Saturday saw two major games between Canada and Scotland.

Team Jones of Winnipeg took the victory over Team Muirhead from Stirling Scotland in an exciting game of 7-2.  

Jones scored a win with a total of 235 points.

Team Carey of Calgary lost against Team Homan of Ottawa in a straight score of 6-0.  

Homan secured her win with a total of 236 points while Carey managed to get 155 points.

Team Jones and Homan will be set to face each other for the finals at 2:30pm today.  

The final game kicks off at 6:30pm tonight.

In the Saturday men's draw, Team Gushue of St. John's Newfoundland defeated Winnipeg team Carruthers in a score of 5-2 with a total of 63 shots and 238 points.

It was a close game between Team Epping of Toronto and Team Koe of Calgary, but it was Epping which took the victory with a score of 5-2, managing 64 shots and 283 total points.

The match against Teams Gushue and Epping kicks off today this afternoon at 2:30pm.

In the Sask Valley Hockey League, the Beechy Bombers took the victory over the Kenaston Blizzard in a score of 5-7.

The Rosetown Sask Valley Redwings are set to take on the Loreburn 19ers this afternoon at the Rosetown Arena at 3:00pm.  The Redwings currently hold a 2-6 record.

The Delisle Bruins are going up against the Kyle Elks tonight at the Kyle Sports Centre at 5:00pm.  The Elks are on a 7 win streak while the Bruins are on a 5 win streak.

In the Highway 14 Hockey League, the Dinsmore team won against Rosetown Gray in a score of 5-3 at the Dinsmore Memorial Arena last night.

The Rosetown Gray go up against the Eatonia/Leader team tonight at the Biggar Jubilee Stadium.
