Dinsmore's population grew by at least 500 for the weekend as Dinsmore Composite School hosted 20 teams for a major volleyball tournament on Saturday, September 30th. Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys and Junior Girls teams were in attendance.

The tournament that started in 2016 was hosted as usual at the Dinsmore Memorial Arena, with courts also set up at Dinsmore Composite School as four separate five-team-tournaments were held on the 4 courts offered.

DCS's Lance Morrison had tons of thanks to give out for another successful year of running the tournament.

"Many thanks need to be given out as there are so many people that need to be involved to put on an event of this size." stated Morrison in an email, "To the staff and students of DCS for setting up the venues as well as working in the booth. To the parents and community members for working in the booth as well as supporting the players during the event. To the officials, without whom, the event would not happen. To my wife, Shauna, who organized the food for the 500 people that attended the event that lasted from 8am-10pm."

Congratulations to Davidson, Elrose, Beechy, and Outlook on their championships. 'Rock the Block" is just one of many tournaments getting high school volleyball teams around the province ready for SHSAA Provincials beginning in November.
