Bar-b-ques become a nightly event for many people in the summer months. Although it is a leisurely activity, there is a risk involved.

Rod Stevens of Kindersley Fire and Rescue explained that the most common mistake people make is not lighting their bar-b-que correctly. Instead of turning on the propane and lighting one burner at a time, people turn on all the burners. This allows a build up of propane to form before lighting, which can be extremely dangerous.
