The Toronto Blue Jays played their first post-season game in 22 years yesterday afternoon, falling 5-3 in game one of the ALDS to the hands of the Texas Rangers.

Ace David Price, acquired at the trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers pitched 7 innings, allowing five runs (two home runs) on five hits, while striking out another five. During his 7 innings, Price showed some post season nerves get the better of him, as he hit two batters. Putting that into perspective, he hit five batters all regular season. With the loss, Price became the first pitcher in Major League history to lose his first six post-season starts, four of them at the hands of the Rangers.

Yovani Gallardo got the start opposite Price, he retired the Blue Jays top 9 over three innings, before allowing two runs (one home run) on four hits in his final two of five total innings pitched.

Jose Bautista, has played in 1403 regular season games over his 12 year MLB career, however, yesterday was his first ever playoff game. Bautista had one hit on 4 at bats during the game. He made it count batting his first career post season home-run!

During the game, Toronto third baseman Josh Donaldson left for concussion protocol after taking a knee to the head sliding into 2nd in the 4th inning. Bautista also left the game during the 8th inning but both are expected to return for today's game 2 in Toronto.

Adrian Beltre from Texas will sit out game two after leaving yesterdays due to back stiffness.

Today's game starts at 10:45 AM. Cole Hamels will start pitching for Texas, while Marcus Stroman takes the mound opposite for game two of the ALDS.

Game three is on October 11th, 6:10 PM in Texas.
