Saskatchewan residents can now begin booking their flu shots appointments.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority, for the first time, will be providing an online option for booking your appointment. You can book your flu shot through www.4flu.ca. Flu shots can also be booked by calling 1-833-SASKVAX.

SHA-operated flu shot clinics will open on Tues, Oct. 12.

"The Government of Saskatchewan strongly encourages residents to get their flu shot this year," Health Minister Paul Merriman said.

"Protecting yourself and your loved ones from contracting influenza is a simple thing we can all do to further ease the pressure on our health care system caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."

COVID-19 vaccinations will also be available at most SHA flu shot clinics, which will allow residents to get their flu shot and COVID-19 vaccination at the same time and only one appointment is necessary.

Flu shots will also be available at several local pharmacies this season. You can find a list of participating pharmacies on the Pharmacy Association of Saskatchewan website.

All Saskatchewan residents ages six months and older are eligible to get a free influenza vaccine every year.
