The town of Unity has been celebrating Canada Day for several years, but went above and beyond for this special year of Canada's 150th Birthday.

One of the most prestigious buildings in Unity, the museum has served the town with speical antiques over the years, and has made Unity a very interesting place to visit. To celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday at some other location in the town, would make no sense at all.

Canada's 150th Birthday kicked off with a Pancake Brekfast at 8:00am - 10:00am. Once everyone got some food in their systems, there was a church service from 10:00am - 11:00am.

An official flag raising by the Museum, singing of the national anthem and opening ceremonies took place on the museum grounds.

All afternoon, there were many activities for all ages as the museum was opened for the public, and the children were busy with the bouncy castle. In the middle of the afternoon, there was a balloon release into the sky.

Throughout the entire day, there was food booths and raffle prizes. Special food included Bread Baking from a Clay Oven being sold, as well as other snacks and goodies.

There was a supper being held at 5:00pm where around 100 people attended. The supper specifically was sold out, and ended the evening with calm music, delicious food and beautiful weather.

Overall, there was around 500 people that showed up at one point or another to celebrate Canada Day. Some people stayed for the entire day, while others just visited the museum. From the moment the day began, until the supper came to a close, everyone who attended was very patriotic and felt extremely proud to be a Canadian.

All proceeds from the Canada Day celebration are going right back to the Museum to pay for repairs and maintenance.
