The rink is becoming a busier and busier place each day. Hockey season is getting into full swing, and not too far behind it will be local curling clubs firing up their competition for the season.

West Central Online last talked to Delisle native and Saskatchewan curling legend Sherry Anderson back in August, when she was honoured at the Delisle Sports Celebrity Dinner that featured tons of legends in their own regards.

That summer interview was focused on her off-season after Anderson competed once again at the World Senior Curling Championships in Switzerland back in April.

It has been a very busy past couple of seasons for the notable Canadian curler Anderson, and back in August she shared a little bit about what her plans are for the upcoming season.

"We're back in the Candian Seniors again in early December, out in Nova Scotia," said Anderson as her team picked up another Senior Provincials win back in March. Quite the accomplished crew, as she talked about what Team Anderson is playing for this year, "We are going back to try and defend our Candian title and go for a record."

The record of four consecutive Senior wins was set by Anderson's rink last year, and she seemed eager for the opportunity to take a fifth.

"Four is the record right now, but five would be even nicer," she laughed.

Even though the competitive fire is still burning, Anderson talked about how things may be a bit different for her this year.

"I'm not going to have two teams this year," said Anderson who skipped for Team Saskatchewan at the Scotties only a couple of years back and was back in the running for a spot last year. The schedule just got a bit too full for Anderson. "I wanted to play with my senior team, and it was just a lot of curling in a very short period of time. I just thought it was finally time to only have one team, I'll scale back just a little bit."

This should be a welcome move for Anderson as even she says she isn't ready to hang up her shoes and slider yet, but at this point in her career she doesn't need to compete on two different stages.

"I've curled more in the last five years having two teams, than I ever did having one!"

Even though she is taking a step-back, that doesn't mean there won't be another chance for Anderson to step-up to the podium again.
