The Saskatoon Amateur Softball Association is underway with teams beginning their season earlier this week.

Conquest Capitals have competed in the league for several years, and have always been a competitive, scary team to go up against. The league continues to get better as the years go on, as old and young softball teams compete for the championship.

The Capitals were suppose to begin their season on Monday May 8th against the Saskatoon Padres but it was postponed due to a rainout. A make-up date will be announced shortly.

On Tuesday evening, Conquest was able to get their season underway officially when they took on the Delisle U19 Pride squad. The Capitals dominated the young boys out of Delisle with a 12-4 victory to start the season off with a win. The game took place at 6:45pm at Bob Van Impe Stadium.

Taking the diamond again on Thursday May 11th, Conquest played a team from the city called the Saskatoon Toon Town Thunder in a late game at Joe Gallagher Field. The bats continued to work well for the Capitals as they were able to string along 11 runs, however, ended in a tie game at 11-11.

The Capitals are currently in third place in standings after the opening week, out of 12 teams in the league. The Capitals will take on another young team on Monday May 15th when they square up with the Saskatoon Selects U19 team at Bob Van Impe at 6:45pm.
