The Town of Elrose held a by-election vote on Wednesday March 27th for their empty town council seat.

The vacancy was created after his worship Dane MacDonald won the mayor's seat in a by-election last year.

Statistics released by the returning officer Connie Henning revealed that 139 ballots were cast.

Candidate Douglas Martin received 24 votes.

Candidate Brenda Coben received 119 votes, making her Elrose's newest council member.

The 139 ballots cast were down slightly from the by-election held for mayor last year.

Elrose's next general election is scheduled for 2020.
