Saskatchewan had an exceptional year in 2008-09.

A general revenue fund surplus of over two billion dollars was recorded. This is the highest surplus in Saskatchewan history.

The province's debt level is also at the lowest it has been in twenty years.

GRF revenues are just over 30% higher than estimated in the 2008-09 budget due to higher resource revenues and higher sales tax revenue.
