The next step towards a pool in Kindersley will be taking place a week from today.

Town administration have announced a sod-turning ceremony will be held to mark the initiation of the construction project on July 5th at 9:30 AM. The public is invited to attend the event which will be located in the parking lot west of the old aquatic centre.

A number of key members involved with the project will be attending the milestone ceremony including representatives from town council and other officials. They will be joined by members from both Pro-Bilt Structures Ltd. and Western Recreation.

The announcement follows the news of Mayor Rod Perkins entering into an agreement with Pro-Bilt Structures Ltd. for both the design and construction services of the new facility.

Earlier this year, Perkins told West Central Online how council set a goal to begin construction on the capital project in the summer of 2017. So far, the $6.4 million project seems to be coming along right on schedule.

West Central Online will keep you up to date on the groundbreaking ceremony taking place next Wednesday.
