Hundreds of High School athletes from took part in the Provincial Track and Field Championships over the weekend.  Of those hundreds of athletes, six locals brought home Provincial medals.

Eston's Taran Robinson put on a great performance.  He took the Gold medal in Midget Boys Long Jump.  He also placed 7th in the Midget Boys 100 Meter, 5th in the Midget Boys 200 Meter and 4th in the Midget Boys Triple Jump.  He also finished 5th in the Midget Boys Individual points race.

Rosetown's Chantell Labreque was the only double medal winner from the area.  She came home with a pair of silver medals in Senior Girls Shot Put and Senior Girls Discus.

Shelby Sander of Luseland took the bronze in Junior Girls Triple Jump and also placed 8th in Junior Girls Long Jump.  Also capturing the bronze was Katja Meszaros of Biggar in the Junior Girls 3000 Meter and Derek Argue of Kyle in the Senior Boys Javelin.  Another silver medal was brought home by Courtney Walker of Elrose in the Junior Girls Javelin.
