Everyone knows that drinking and driving is dangerous. Unfortunately, the number of incidents and fatalities involving alcohol are on the rise. Saskatchewan's statistics for 2008 show a surprising spike.
On average, forty-six people are killed in alcohol related crashes annually. That number jumped to seventy-five last year. On top of that there are 1,551 crashes that involve alcohol, up 12.5%.
Kwei Quaye, with SGI Traffic Services, says SGI is working with the FSIN and RCMP to reduce the number of alcohol related collisions.
