After the recent college commitment of Kyle Ford and the opening of their auction to help recoup some funds from this past year, the Kindersley Jr. Klippers finally had some more in-house transactions to announce.

First off on Monday afternoon the Klippers inked ‘03 forward Josh Danis for the upcoming season. Danis will join the Klippers after this past shortened season with the U18 AAA Calgary Royals that saw him record 7 points in just 6 games. He had 59 points in 32 games total for the Royals, and Klippers coach Ken Plaquin believes the signing is yet another intelligent and creative forward that will fit in with the fast paced Klippers team.

Their next signing came Tuesday morning, announcing that they have secured trainer Kacey Marcinkiw for the upcoming season. According to the release, Marcinkiw brings a wealth of experience from his time as a trainer for the U of S Huskies and MRU Cougars men’s hockey teams. He worked with those programs while attending school, completing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology while in Saskatoon, and earning a degree in athletic therapy afterwards in Calgary. Marcinkiw is from Saskatoon, and his impressive background is expected to help him be a tremendous asset to the Klippers.

The final signing of the period was actually a re-signing, as the Klippers are happy to announce they are bringing back assistant coach Mitch Topinka for the upcoming season. Topinka will also take on an additional role with the responsibilities of assistant general manager. He came to Kindersley last year after spending time in the MJHL, and the Klippers love what he brings to the table when it comes to his great networking skills, and knowledge of other leagues.
